Althea (Kit Long) Tam
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)
Althea is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist who graduated from the University of Newcastle. She has experience working in early intervention supporting children with challenges in daily activities. She believes that children learn best through play, when they feel safe and regulated. She uses play to build strong connections and guide therapy. She is passionate about combining the family’s unique experience of day-to-day life with continuous professional learning to create the most valuable outcome for every child. Using a strengths-based approach and the child’s unique interests, she helps children navigate areas of difficulty, such as self-care, play, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and motor skills. Her goal is to support participation in activities that matter most to the child and their family. She is fluent in Cantonese and is proficient in Mandarin.
Outside of work, Althea enjoys spending time with her two young children, reading, and listening to music.
