Mikayla Valente - Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
Mikayla is an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting children who face emotional regulation challenges, sensory sensitivities, and barriers to everyday participation. She believes therapy should be engaging and child‑centred, and is dedicated to using the most up‑to‑date evidence to make therapy feel playful, fun and meaningful for children.
Mikayla works with children who experience challenges across areas such as self‑care skills, learning, play, social participation and daily routines. She takes a holistic, strengths‑based approach that focuses on helping children build confidence and independence, while fostering skills that support participation at home, in early learning settings and in the community.
Working collaboratively with families, Mikayla supports them to build routines and practical strategies that fit into everyday life. She loves celebrating the small wins — whether that’s a child mastering a self‑care task, successfully navigating a sensory experience, or growing in confidence and resilience.
Outside of work, Mikayla loves baking, taking her dog on leisurely walks, and relaxing with a good book.
